Wildlife artist Deb Zimmerman was raised on a farm in souther Wisconsin. Her father filled her childhood with lessons that she refers to as "nature walks and talks". Through those experiences her love for nature was born
Debs feels, as an artist, she has an opportunity to share natures beauty, not only in a visual sense, but also in our kinship with the natural world. Believing her artist talent is God given, she includes a fitting Bible verse on each piece of her artwork.
Her technique of pressured layers of colored pencil produces a photo realistic result. The drawing is then finalized with ink to sharpen the detail and direct the focus. Accomplishing accurate realism is of the upmost importance to her, requiring extensive time and study.
Deb has exhibited since 1986. Her works have been donated to numerous wildlife organizations and are included in private as well as corporate collections throughout the states.
